Statewide Director of Opioid Courts, New York State Unified Court System

Susan Sturges, M.A., MPA, is the Statewide Director of Opioid Courts for the New York State Unified Court System. In this role, she oversees the development, policies, practices and sustainment of all Opioid Courts throughout New York. Ms. Sturges is the former Project Director of the Brooklyn Treatment Court, where she was responsible for managing the Court’s operations, including the DWI Court, Veterans Court, Co-occurring Disorders track and Opioid Court. Ms. Sturges received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Scranton and holds a Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology and a Masters of Public Administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Ms. Sturges has conducted numerous workshops and presentations at the national and international level. Ms. Sturges has co-authored several articles examining the factors related to substance abuse and criminality among adolescents cross culturally with a specific focus on the impact of trauma.
